stainless steel 305 - coil slitting

Stainless Steel Coil Stock Supplier
305 UNS S30500

Developed to meet the need for a ductile chromium-nickel stainless with a reduced tendency to work harden during spinning, stamping and forming. Type 305, or the “free spinning grade,” was formed. The nickel content of the nominal 18-8 composition was increased and the chromium content was decreased to meet this need. Due to lower rate of work hardening, Type 305 needs considerably less process annealing as compared to Type 302 and 304. Final grinding and polishing is required less with this grade, which will make costs lower for the final product. Resistance to abrasion is favorable.

Type 305 is used for complex conical shapes, excessively deep drawing, expanded metal parts, small diameter deep containers or sleeves and spinning metal.
