434 UNS S43400 The molybdenum-bearing version of the general-purpose
grade (Type 430), Type 433 has the same useful combinations
of properties. Adding molybdenum (a nominal 1%),
helps improve the corrosion resistance properties
of the grade, especially against corrosive road
salts in automotive trim applications. As with all
Type 430 variations, this alloy is highly magnetic
and can be welded with some grain coarsening, embrittlement
at ambient temperature and a reduced resistance
to corrosion.
Type 434 is generally used for automotive and appliance
trims. It has shown more of a tendency to rope during
forming than Type 430.
