steel nizn cote® - coil slitting
Nizn-Cote® is an electroplated nickel/zinc alloy. It is approximately 90% zinc and 10% nickel. The gauge ranges from .008” through .070”. The width ranges from .400” through 22.000. Inquiries should be made for gauge and width ranges outside of the above recommendations.
The advantages of Nizn-Cote® are that it has ten times the sacrificial corrosion resistance of electro-zinc (equal coating thickness) as measured by accelerated and long-term corrosion. The alloy is formable, weldable and paintable. It can be bent, roll formed, stamped, drawn and coined. Its coated acts as a lubricant in the drawing process. Nizn-Cote® is available in a variety of finishes and tempers.
Common applications for this alloy include automotive & appliance trim, gaskets, window channels, electrical contacts, lead frames, license plates, brush ferrules, hand tools, fiber drum chimes, and tag stock.
