stainless steel 316l - coil slitting

316L UNS S31603

Type 316L with .03% carbon maximum resembles Type 316 except for its extra-low carbon. Type 316L has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion following stress relieving or welding. 316L will become sensitized when exposed to service temperatures of 800?-1650?F. When service conditions require improved corrosion resistance where annealing is not feasible and the welding of thicker sections is needed, Type 316L is favored over Type 316. Abrasion resistance is favorable.
