436 Stainless Steel

UNS S43600

This variation of Type 430 is alloyed with columbium and molybdenum to reduce the tendency of wavy lines (roping) developing during forming, improve buffing qualities, somewhat improve resistance to cracking in limited forming operations and improve corrosion resistance. Corrosion resistance is not equal to the 300 series. This type is highly magnetic with satisfactory abrasion resistance. Automotive and appliance trims are typical applications.
